Why You Should Own a Convertible

In these southern states like Texas, where summer is almost the only real season we have here, convertibles should be the preferred choice of transportation for all. If you've never driven one, wait until there's a nice weekend and indulge yourself. Rent a convertible and take it for a spin. Everyone will agree, there is nothing that beats the thrill and adrenaline rush you get what you're driving a drop top ride. The open air experience trumps any car experience you've ever had. Read on to find out our top reasons on .

Before we give you all the great reasons on why you should change your preferred choice of transportation to a convertible, lets define what exactly it means. A convertible, to a die-hard enthusiast, means a two door car with a retractable fabric top. Furthermore, a four door car with a convertible rooftop is called a phaeton, and a two door with a drop top is called a roadster. To simplify things, we're just going to say that a convertible is any car with a retractable full roof.

A great reason is that a convertible eliminates blind spots and opens your back views. The dangerous blind spot that is created by the column that supports the roof at the back of the car is removed, so you are left with a totally unobstructed 360 view. This is much safer for you, now that all blind spots are gone.

Secondly, a convertible has unlimited headroom. If you're a pretty tall person, you know that you can only adjust the seat so much and still be comfortable. With a convertible, you don't have to worry about the height of your cargo or passengers. Furthermore, a convertible gives you more entry options. Use your youthful vaulting skills to enter your car without opening the door! Plenty of people enjoy hopping into their cars.

Perhaps no other car on the road facilitates passive multi-tasking like a convertible. You can easily add a second task to your day. We mean that you can tan and drive at the same time. If you have to spend all that time sitting and driving, why not add tanning to the list? A bit of sun has been shown to be not only healthy, but lifts morale.

This brings us to our next point. A convertible responds to your moods. You have the luxury of dropping the top when you're feeling festive and need some sun. Other times, you may not particularly want so much exposure due to bad weather or whatever, and that's the beauty of it. Just retract the roof when you feel like. Other cars don't have this option at all.

Lastly, you may or may not be paying a bit more for car insurance, simply due to the fact that there is slightly more risk when driving a convertible. However, if you compare car insurance rates, there's no reason why you can't find an equally good deal.
