Why Modern Automobile Makers Are Rediscovering Color

ByDarren Kutcher

Travel to Havana, Cuba, has become less restricted, allowing more tourists to witness first-hand the fabled vintage cars that still ply the city streets. Imported from the United States before the Cuban Revolution, many of these vehicles have been meticulously maintained for nearly sixty years. Even more amazing to visitors are the bold colors, visible in striking contrast to modern automobiles.

While no one really wants to return to that era, a glimpse at any big-city freeway traffic jam today reveals a sea of white, gray, and black vehicles. Although there are always exceptions, the days of bright fire-engine red, turquoise or yellow have disappeared. This obviously reflects changing public tastes, but other factors have also heavily influenced the trend.

Until the 1970s, unique American models had always been instantly recognizable. Fuel supply concerns sparked an influx of imported smaller cars with better gas mileage, but also with a bland similarity of design and exterior color. The old, boxy models have been replaced, but many newer cars are still difficult to distinguish from their own competition.

In addition to improving mileage standards, car makers needed to finish assembling vehicles faster and more efficiently. In the early years, paint was actually applied by hand in a painstaking process lasting days. As the post World War II industry evolved, makers began to use enamel paint or acrylic lacquer, both of which lent themselves to bright, custom colors.

Most new vehicles today enjoy a exterior paint job based on sparkling, mica-based tints, in addition to exterior coatings of clear polyurethane. This gives the surface a deeper, more nuanced look, and actually appears more expensive and luxurious. These finishes are technologically superior, take less time to apply, last longer, but are often vastly more subdued.

When combined with buyer preferences for white and silver, the most recent generations of standard car colors have become homogenized and bland. It is possible to order custom tones, but few can approach the brash assertiveness of bygone hues. Not surprisingly, the mistaken old idea that vehicle color can influence driving habits, and even auto insurance rates, has largely faded away.

Today, digital technologies are making bolder paint jobs practical and desirable, and the public is ready. Driven by environmental concerns, the auto industry worldwide is constantly improving exterior painting practices, and it is now possible to order nearly limitless computer-controlled color variations. While no one expects car makers to resurrect the vivid tones of the 1950s, the next decade may see the decline of dullness.

You can find details about Missouri auto insurance requirements and tips on how to get the best ins rates, right now.

How Being A Responsible Driver Can Save You Money On Automobile Coverage

ByDarren Kutcher

Boredom is often a problem for people who live in small towns. However, those who live in the Centennial State, be it in a rural area or one of the bigger cities. Have many outdoor activities to choose from. With mountains to climb, trails to explore, lakes to fish, and valleys to camp in, there is always something to do outside. Of course, in order to get to these places, most people are going to require some form of transportation.

From highways to dirt roads, many people set out every day to drive on them. Colorado's landscapes are something to behold, even while traveling to work, but no matter what your reasons are for driving, it is important to do it safely. Whether you are out driving daily, or you're rarely on the roads, it would also be in your best interest to travel legally.

When it comes to vehicle coverage in this state, prices vary and can be expensive. However, it is still possible to get a good deal in your area. Because there is a lot of land here, and quite a bit of open road, accidents are relatively low. If you have a good driving record, it might be possible to find even better deals.

Before you decide what kind of policy you are going to purchase, it is a good idea to find out exactly what is required. You may not need to buy as much you thought. Nevertheless, it might be a good idea, depending on your personal situation, to go with full coverage instead of opting for the less expensive liability.

These days, there may be more distractions out on the road than ever before. Using a cell phone in the car is not always the wisest decision, but many people continue to do it. If you want to give yourself some added protection, it might be smart to keep the phones off while in the car. This can be almost impossible for some people, but if you want to avoid accidents (and save money on present and future coverage) focusing on the road should be your main concern.

Teenage drivers are typically the most expensive people to insure. However, you can find ways to get discounts. Teens who prove that they are responsible in school, have a better chance of being rewarded by insurers when it comes time to find the right policy. Attending driving school, no matter what your age, is also looked kindly upon by most companies.

Motor vehicle owners, you will find details about car insurance Colorado requirements and cost saving tips on our website at http://www.onlineautoinsurance.com/colorado/ right now.

Proof of Texas Automobile Insurance

To decrease the number of uninsured motorists in the Lone Star State, local officials and State Legislatures have created a system designed to ensure that vehicle owners can demonstrate financial responsibility after an accident. Drivers must adhere to strict coverage requirements and maintain adequate proof of insurance at all times while an automobile is registered in Texas. Consequently, driving while uninsured can net an offending motorist a number of fines and other penalties. One of the best ways to affordably meet these coverage requirements is to buy sufficient auto protection after gathering insurance quotes in Texas from online sources.

To meet state financial responsibility requirements, the majority of vehicle owners in the Lone Star State buy vehicle coverage that includes bodily injury and property damage liability with limits of at least 30/60/25. When purchasing auto protection from an insurer licensed to sell coverage in TX, motorists should obtain proof of insurance that should be kept within the insured vehicle at all times. These cards generally include the names of those insured, the name of the insurer, the policy number, company contact information, vehicle identification number, details about the automobile, and the policy effective dates. A motorist who operates an automobile without adequate proof may be convicted of driving while uninsured.
Cheap Proof of Auto Insurance in Texas

To assist local officials in spotting uninsured motorists and improve financial responsibility throughout the Lone Star State, Texas Legislature mandated the TexasSure program. This system was developed by the TX Department of Information Resources, Department of Public Safety, Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Department of Insurance as a way of electronically tracking whether or not a motorist is adequately insured. TexasSure gives law enforcement officers and other approved users to ability to immediately verify a vehicle owners coverage status.

For Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility in Texas, a vehicle owner may be susceptible to an annual surcharge of $250.00 for three years, with multiple convictions potentially resulting in multiple surcharges. Additionally, motorists may have their driver’s licenses and vehicle registration suspended unless the vehicle owner can maintain adequate coverage. Residents can avoid many of these consequences by buying a policy that meets state requirements.

To meet state financial responsibility requirements and obtain sufficient proof of insurance at an adequate price, residents are encouraged to shop around and compare as many quotes as possible. Similar to other products, the cost of vehicle coverage can fluctuate for many different reasons. Comparing options can often lead to lower rates. To efficiently shop around, drivers should complete on online search, where dozens of estimates can be viewed at once.

Dropping Your Monthly Costs for Collision and Comprehensive Automobile Insurance CostsBy: Alston J. Balkcom

Collision and Comprehensive insurance are optional car insurance coverages. If you still have chattel mortgate or lien against your car, the contract you have with your lien holder may force you to carry this type of protection. If you have paid off your auto, you can decide to keep or drop these aspects of your policy. You can shrink your auto insurance premiums if you remove or lower these parts of your insurance policy's protection.

Collision insurance can compensate you for the cost to repair your vehicle when a covered car hits or is hit by another automobile. It can also pay for damages that occur when a covered auto hits a something other than a vehicle such as a road sign or a tree.

Comprehensive insurance is also known as "Other than Collision." This type of coverage pays for damages caused by flood, vandalism, contact with birds or animals, etc..

Since both collision insurance and comprehensive insurance pay for damage to your vehicle and not someone else's, you are allowed to decide whether or not to drop these from your policy. However, if your auto is leased, or you have a lien on your auto, you probably will not be able to do so because the actual owner of the car or the lien holder will want their interests protected.

The liability portion of your vehicle insurance policy is the primary portion of the policy that pays others for their damages. If you collide with another vehicle and you don't have collision insurance, that fact will not impact the amount of money the other party might get.

Why Should You Eliminate Collision Insurance?

The rates for this aspect of your automobile insurance coverage may be more than you want to pay. If your vehicle is totaled, the insurance company will only pay you its book value. At some point, you may feel that the potential return has diminished enough that thepremiums of the collision insurance is no longer justified by the potential payment you might get from your insurance company. If you own your auto free and clear you can ask your insurance company to drop or reduce the coverage.

You can reduce your collision coverage by reducing your coverage. This will shrink thepremiums and still give you some protection. Your lender or leaser may allow you to raise the deductible up to a specified limit.

Why Should You Drop Comprehensive Insurance?

The thinking behind cutting or reducing vehicle comprehensive insurance is the same as the logic associated with removing collision insurance. However, since the cost for comprehensive insurance is less than the cost of collision insurance, you may want to keep it even after you have dropped your collision coverage.

If your vehicle is leased or you have a lien on it, you may not be able to drop the coverage. However the leaser or lender may allow you to reduce the coverage by raising your deductible. This will reduce your rates, although not as much as completely eliminating the coverage would.

Most autos lose value when they get older. This reduces the amount of money that an insurance company is likely to pay to repair or replace a automobile. At some point you may feel that the amount of premium your auto's collision or comprehensive coverage adds to your automobile insurance bill is too much. Exactly when that point comes is determined by your personal comfort level with risk.

Removing comprehensive insurance coverage and/or collision coverage means that you take more risk. If your feel that you are unlikely to have an at fault accident since you drive safely you may feel that you can take this risk. If you garage your vehicle your car is perhaps less likely to be stolen or vandalized. If this is the case, you may want to take these risks as well.
